How to add "Depth" to your LinkedIn posts
"'Mazza ni aaya' in content often implies a lack of depth.
Nobody appreciates generic posts; they not only diminish your credibility but also hinder the growth of your profile.
But how do you add depth? Even before that, how do you define depth?
Defining Depth:
Adding a deep insight about the topic you are writing about, which is not commonly known, is called depth. It shows that you either have personal experience or are well-informed about the topic.
How do you add depth?
After producing 500 LinkedIn posts for over 50 founders, we discovered three ways to add depth to your LinkedIn posts:
Adding Personal Stories:
Personal stories are an effective way to add depth. For example, if you're discussing digital gold, mention how much you've allocated in digital gold (even an approximate percentage works). This makes your claims more believable. Another example- if you want to talk about culture - talk about the culture you have experienced, and may be refer to some of your colleagues.
It's not necessary for all stories to reflect exactly what happened. Storytelling involves connecting the dots in a way that appears credible. How to master storytelling is a topic I could write about another time, but the essence is in adding stories.
Adding Examples with Sources:
One example is fine, but two examples make your content even more compelling.
What sources are credible? Many believe that only sources like Harvard, SEBI, or other official sites are required. However, you can also use references from:
Newspapers
Books
Articles
Even a credible LinkedIn post from anyone.
Do the Math:
People appreciate numbers and calculations. There's something about calculations that enhances your trustworthiness.
For example, if you're discussing the restaurant business, provide calculations—like how much a burger sells for and what the costs are. Once you do that, people realize the depth in your post.
That concludes today's post.
I hope this addresses the issue of 'Mazza ni aaya' in your content."
